The agreement aims to address the global threat of climate change by maintaining a global temperature increase well below 2 degrees Celsius this century and continuing efforts to further limit the temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. [1] KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) – Malaysia will present the Paris Agreement on climate change on the 4th Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said he is committed to tackling global climate change. Both the EU and its Member States are individually responsible for ratifying the Paris Agreement. Seven other states have signed the Paris Agreement, but have not ratified it. Yeo also made courageous statements about Malaysia`s lack of commitment to climate issues, including the removal of the severe under-occupation of the climate unit within his ministry and the complaint that „two years after the country signed the Paris Agreement, little has been done.“[5] In line with the PH Manifesto, Yeo announced three important climate commitments: a climate change centre that is expected to be set up in the coming months, a national climate change adaptation and mitigation plan, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2019, and a climate change law that is expected to be presented to Parliament in 24 to 30 months. . . .
